On this issue I think the federal government has been willfully lazy. The United States needs to streamline and enforce its immigration laws. There is nothing that bad with the immigration laws as written; they just are not enforced. It is comparable to a speed trap on the highway where the police just wave at people as they drive by at 100 miles an hour.
